GML and OGC Web Services (WFS, WRS) are playing increasing roles in a wide variety of both traditional and non-traditional geographic information applications from location-based services to aeronautical and oceanographic information systems. This course provides a technical overview of GML (ISO 19136) including the GML object-property-value model, the core GML schemas, GML profiles, and the development of GML application schemas. The use of GML in legacy GIS and database systems, and in OGC web services will also be covered.
