2014-16 NSDI Strategic Plan | FY 2015 Implementation Plan
We will discuss Objective 3.1 of the 2014-16 NSDI Strategic Plan | FY 2015 Implementation Plan at June 18, 2015 FGDC Standards WG meeting. The FGDC community is working collaboratively to implement the NSDI Strategic Plan. The FGDC Executive Committee oversees and monitors the implementation of the plan. Designated Federal officials, appointed from the FGDC Executive Committee, serve as Executive Champions for each of the objectives in the plan. They oversee each objective and its supporting actions. Initial implementation plans were developed for each of the objectives in the strategic plan, describing how the actions will be implemented and measured.
ASPRS Positional Accuracy Standards for Digital Geospatial Data (2014)
There will be a presentation on ASPRS Positional Accuracy Standards for Digital Geospatial Data (2014) at the June 18, 2015 FGDC Standards WG meeting. The ASPRS Positional Accuracy Standards for Digital Geospatial Data (2014) address recent innovations in digital imaging and non-imaging sensors, airborne GPS, inertial measurement units (IMU) and aerial triangulation (AT) technologies. Unlike prior standards, the new standards are independent of scale and contour interval, address higher levels of accuracies achievable by the latest technologies (e.g. unmanned aerial systems and lidar mobile mapping systems), and provide enough flexibility to be applicable to future technologies. Finally, the new standards provide cross references to older standards and detailed guidance for a wide range of potential applications.
