- FGDC endorses the OpenGIS Web Feature Service 2.0 Interface Standard
- At its September 24, 2013 meeting, the FGDC Standards Working Group voted to recommend FGDC endorsement of Web Feature Service (WFS) 2.0. The FGDC Coordination Group (CG) subsequently approved WFS 2.0 for FGDC endorsement by letter ballot. The FGDC Steering Committee endorsed WFS 2.0 through a ballot that closed Friday, February 7, 2014.
- FGDC endorses ISO metadata and data quality standards
- The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) Steering Committee endorsed INCITS/ISO 19115-1:2014 Geographic information -- Metadata -- Part 1: Fundamentals and INCITS/ISO 19157:2013[2014] Geographic information -- Data quality standards in December 2016. This endorsement is part of the FGDC’s continuing efforts to advance geospatial metadata and its use for efficient and effective search, discovery, and access to the data it describes, and to facilitate more direct access to online data services.
