This Report , "Increasing private sector awareness, and enthusiatic participation in the NSDI," was prepared by STIA through a grant by FGDC. The goal of the report is to identify ways to better enage the private sector in the development of the NSDI. The private sector is an important stakeholder group that needs full engagement in the NSDI. This report reviews the development of NSDI, examines reasons for low private sector participation, identifies key private sector motivators, summarizes private sector impediments to achieving the NSDI, and provides recommendations for private sector growth in NSDI.
