International Boundaries - an authoritative source?

At the request of the FGDC Coordination Group, Alison Dishman attempted to locate an authoritative set of international boundaries that could be used by Federal Agencies.  Her findings:

•NGA and State coordinate on Int’l Boundaries

•State responsible for depiction of Int’l Boundaries on US maps

•Digital International Boundaries Database (DIBDB) – NGA’s official classified repository

•State has large scale boundaries for limited Government use – attempting to lift these restrictions

•UN has Second Administrative Level Boundaries project (SALB) but online version is not current and is in constant revision
