This project will provide metadata outreach assistance to additional
state and local governmental agencies in Idaho that were
not reached under University of Idaho Library 2004 Metadata
Outreach CAP grant. The previous year’s experience with the state
and local agencies enabled them to provide metadata creation,
management, and maintenance tools as well as site-specific consultation
on metadata issues surrounding specific organizations. Response for
assistance through the 2004 grant award was
overwhelming. The project will to continue efforts
empowering state and local governments to create and maintain quality
metadata. Metadata created under the grant will be published
through the Idaho
Geospatial Clearinghouse Node and can be discovered and harvestable
through Geospatial
One-Stop Portal at and NSDI.
