FWS announces availability of Cadastral Geodatabase

The Cadastral Data Working Group of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proud to announce the availability of our Cadastral Geodatabase.  This GIS data reflects the boundaries of the entire National Wildlife Refuge System, as well as the parcel data.

This data is current as of May 1, 2009.  A revised dataset, reflecting updates and any needed corrections, will be posted in November 2009.

For those of you that desire data for a specific Region: in ArcMap, select using the attribute FWSREGION.  The Regions are listed by name and Region number in the Unique Values.

The design and compilation of the cadastral geodatabase is the result of many years of effort by FWS Cartographers and GIS Specialists.  We will continue to populate the remaining feature classes, which will provide very detailed info regarding the land and water the FWS manages.
