At its March 16, 2010 meeting, the FGDC Coordination Group approved public review of the subject draft standard.

This project was formerly titled the Street Address Data Standard. It replaces the Address Data Content Standard project, which was discontinued in 2005.

Objectives

Creation of data content, classification, transfer, and quality standards for street addresses. The data transfer standard will build on the Address Data Content Standard previously proposed by the FGDC (Public Review Draft, April 17, 2003). Some modifications may be proposed based on the content standard that is developed.

Scope

The standard will cover physical and postal addresses.
