SUMMARY:EPA & Partners Metadata Training
DESCRIPTION:Introductory Training\: The introductory training will pro
 vide attendees with an introduction to the FGDC standard and FGDC comp
 liancy as well as how to use various tools (e.g.\, a metadata implemen
 tation\, templates\, and editors [specifically the use of the EPA Meta
 data Editor]) to improve metadata production.  This session will also 
 introduce the North American Profile (NAP) of the ISO 19115/19139 stan
 dard and will discuss how it relates to the FGDC CSDGM.  This session 
 is designed for users who do not have a lot of knowledge about the FGD
 C standard and its structure or about creating an implementation\, usi
 ng templates or using the EPA Metadata Editor (EME).  It is also inten
 ded for users who would like to know more about the NAP of the ISO 913
 9/19115.  It does not cover why someone should develop metadata or wha
 t the business case for metadata is\; it is assumed that most users al
 ready know they want to create metadata and need more information on t
 hat process.
