Agency representatives of the Federal Geographic Data Committee, FGDC Secretariat, and the DOI GIO will provide a status on the implementation of the government-wide geospatial portfolio management called for in the Supplemental Guidance to OMB Circular A-16. There will be a description of near term objectives, activities underway, and next steps for managers of geospatial data designated as a “National Geospatial Data Asset” and A-16 theme leads. Session leaders will solicit feedback from participants on the approach underway, answer questions about dataset management roles and responsibilities, and convene a discussion on issues faced by data set mangers and theme leads, implementation suggestions, management support needed by A-16 theme and dataset managers.
