2-day Basic Metadata Workshop for Tribal GIS Professionals

This is a basic 2-day metadata workshop specifically targeted to tribal GIS or environmental professionals. We will cover the CSDSM version 2 (FGDC-STD-001-1998) including the Biological Data Profile as well as the coming transition to the new ISO standard. In addition, we will present two modules specifically tailored to tribal groups. The first is a module on a data security policy developed by the Coeur d'Alene tribe which is intended to help tribes maintain control of their spatial data. The second module is on the addition of native or traditional place names to the USGS GNIS database.
