Abstract: Introduction to metadata for tribal
employees and tribal members in New England area
Introduction to the concept, principles, and value of metadata;
Detailed review of the CSDGM and available software tools; NSDI
components and GeoData One-Stop web, state data catalogs, and their
data services; Methods for writing quality metadata using ArcCatalog
and other tools, style-sheet, template & E/I; Make metadata part of
the data development process, implementation issues. Hands-on exercises
on CSDGM elements, data discovery, and metadata creation.
Cost: Training for tribal members and tribal employees
supported by FGDC
Tools: ArcCatalog, Metadata editor2 (for ArcView),
text editor, use-specified
