Abstract:
GETTING TO KNOW METADATA
Introduction to the concept, principles, and value of metadata. Review
of the CSDGM. Overview of metadata collection/management tools and the
FGDC Clearinghouse. Demonstration of a few metadata creation, management,
and validation tool options such as SMMS, ArcCatalog, NOAA MetaData
Collection Tool Extension for ArcView, Corpsmet95, and mp.
Primarily focused toward beginner and intermediate metadata creators.
Workshops can be tailored to the needs of an individual or organization.
If the facilities permit, "hands-on" training can be incorporated into
the workshop.
Costs:
Workshops have no fee associated with them and are conducted at facilities
that donate the space and equipment.
