Related NSDI Initiatives
The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC), Geospatial One-Stop (GOS), and The National Map
are three national geospatial initiatives that share the goal of
building the NSDI. FGDC focuses on policy, standards, and advocacy; GOS
focuses on discovery and access; and The National Map focuses on
integrated, certified base mapping content. The National Geospatial Programs Office (NGPO) of the U.S. Geological Survey is the organizational host for these complementary activities.
