It is the goal of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe to begin migrating GIS services and data to a cloud-based service testbed. This migration of data and services will allow the Tribe to gain experience moving data to the cloud and maintain it there. The grant will give the Tribe a safe environment and guidance from NSDI necessary to experiment and expand into this new environment. Their participation in the program will allow them to gain the experience necessary to determine the feasibility and commitments required to incorporate cloud services into the Tribe’s future IT department. The project will result in operational geospatial Cloud services whose deployment costs and performance characteristics will be known and documented and support federal mission requirements towards A-16 data development.
