Strategic and Business Plan Development in Support of the NSDI Future Directions Fifty States Initiative
The goal of this project is to spearhead the development of a strategic and business plan that addresses integrating the state of Vermonts's existing GIT systems into a distributed enterprise that is supported by all agencies using GIS. The resulting effort will facilitate the implementation of National Spatial Data Infrastructure in Vermont.
Vermont is requesting funding to spearhead the development of a strategic business plan that addresses integrating the state’s existing GIT systems into a distributed enterprise that is supported by all agencies currently using GIS. The business plan developed through this effort will be used to establish a statewide Enterprise GIS capacity utilizing the same stakeholder organizations. All of the state agencies that are currently using GIS have expressed a willingness to participate. After establishing the initial unified business plan within the state government environment the team will add new members from the wider Vermont geospatial community such as Regional Planning Commissions, cities and towns.
