Putting New Jersey on The National Map

The 2006 NSDI CAP grant offers the The State of New Jersey Office of Information Technology-Office of Geographic Information Systems (NJOIT-OGIS) the opportunity to provide important new data layer contributions to The National Map. The area of data coverage for this project is the entire State of New Jersey, encompassing 7,500 square miles for state agency data and 1,047 square miles for countywide high-resolution elevation data. Included in this coverage area are two of the highest ranked 133 Urban Area footprints (New York-Newark and Philadelphia-Camden).

As a result of the NJOIT-OGIS project, five statewide datasets and two countywide high-resolution elevation datasets will be integrated into The National Map and the Geospatial One-Stop Portal as Open GIS Consortium (OGC)-compliant Web Map Services. All of these datasets will be made available in the public domain. The data provided will be available for unlimited viewing, limited downloads (limited by data volume restrictions), and unrestricted use and redistribution.
