Msg for New Thread Test on Beta Site

Posted by dscholz at December 14. 2005
This msg is being posted to establish a new thread on the metadata forum. This should allow FGDC testers and reviewers to try out the different tools of the Plone package being used for the Forum.

This is a reply to the new thread in the Metadata Forum. It was pretty easy to post the new topic, and to reply to it... although I don't know about showing the photo of the person who posted the msg. I guess it adds a personal touch and makes it feel more like you are "talking" or "listening" than just keyboarding. (Gotta get a better picture, for sure!)

:) The picture option is optional. We can turn it off for a forum if that's what everybody prefers.

Testing this reply feature.

Will this forum support rich text?
Automatic notifications?
Better avatars?

Hello,

Does anyone know a lot about metadata because I have some very specific questions. One is, when filling out the Source_Information, if there are more than one, do I list the most recent first? Also, what is the difference exactly between Geospatial_Data_Presentation_Form and Type_of_source_media? They are both under Source_Information and sound like they would be very similar. Also, if I create one metadata file as a master for many shapefiles, do I need to add somewhere in each of those shapefiles something like "see main or master metadata file"?

Thanks.
