Geospatial Information and Technology Association (GITA) 2009 Annual Conference, April 19 - 22, 2009. Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, FL. FGDC will have a booth. Milo Robinson will be present at the booth. Doug Nebert will give a presentation.
The morning Coordination Group meeting has been cancelled. There will be an Operations Review and Evaluation Meeting in the afternoon.
The 2009 conference features last year's format including free long format GIS technical workshops for conference registrants on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. New this year to these workshops, are a series of ESRI “hands on” workshops. The conference calendar opens with 2-day pre conference GIS training classes (Mon/Tues April 13th & 14th) offered at deeply discounted prices. The main conference runs Wednesday a.m., April 15th, through Friday, April 17th, early afternoon
The conference theme, "Layers of Success – Interconnecting Ideas" is aimed at showcasing the strides and successes GIS and IT professionals are having in the Intermountain Region.

AAG Annual Meeting March 22 - 27, 2009 Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, NV FGDC will be hosting a booth; Sharon Shin will be at the booth. Sharon Shin will give a presentation entitled: North American (Metadata) Profile: Partnership Across Borders. Roxanne Lamb will also be attending.
TUGIS 2009 will feature a Map Design Competition to illustrate the importance of design for the visual display of cartographic data from a GIS.
Event Summit: Creating Spatial Data Standards for Cultural Resources (Hall of the States, from Mar 11, 2009 01:00 PM to Mar 13, 2009 12:00 PM)
To develop a shared sense of direction for creating FGDC standards for cultural resource spatial data based on the input of participant agencies. Julie Binder Maitra will give a presentation about the FGDC standards program.
